The Sims franchise has been making more and more money, and that isn't because of the games themselves. It's because EA has made heaps of DLC or packs. The cost varies on the amount of content the creators have included in each.

The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs (released 2016)

There are three categories:

1. Expansion packs (Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get Together and Get to Work)

These are the most expensive. They are priced somewhere around $50 each. They include the most amount of content, with new features and new items for your sims and for their homes.

2. Game packs (Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Retreat, Dine Out, Vampires, Parenthood and Spa Day) These are the middle priced packs, around $30. They still include some new features, and a reasonable amount of content for your Sims, but it's not as much as Expansions.

3. Stuff packs (Laundry Day, My First Pet, Cool Kitchen, Spooky, Luxury Party...)

These packs are the cheapest at around $15 each. This means that they include the least amount of content. Usually, depending on the target/theme of the pack, it only comes with a few hairs and clothes for a few of the ages of Sims (eg My First Pet is targeted at kids and pets so they get more content in that pack).

You can purchase packs for your Sims game at places like EB Games and JB Hi-fi or you can purchase them online via Origin https://www.origin.com/aus/en-us/store

If you purchase them online, on Origin, once you pay the pack will automatically download onto your game, but if you purchase them in-store, you will have a code. You will need to click Redeem-a-code and enter your code.

I hope you found this guide to Packs in The Sims 4 useful :)
