Introduction to Cheating in TS4

Cheating is a feature that is definitely not new to the Sims franchise. Many players like to use cheats to enhance their game, have a more relaxed game play or just to cut corners. But no matter what the reason is, every player should know these basic cheats.

First, let's start off with how to open your 'cheat window'.

Press ctrl+shift+c to open the little white box in the top left-hand corner. Into this box, to enable your cheat codes, type testingcheats true or testingcheats on

How to use cheats

Once you've got this step, you can enter the following cheat codes (as this is only an intro I'm only putting some basic ones for you to try out) Don't write the =. This signifies what the cheat does. When you type the code into your cheat window don't forget to press enter.

kaching = this gives your Sims' household $1 000 simoleons. (you can also type rosebud for the same result)

motherlode = $50 000

death.toggle = disables death (your household only)

household.autopay_bills = (yep you guessed it) pays the bills automatically

careers.promote(name of your selected sims' career) = e.g careers.promote Doctor if your sim is a doctor she will get promoted

careers.demote Doctor = same thing but obviously demoted not premoted

FreeRealEstate on = this cheat is for when you're moving a brand new sim into their home, it doesn't need to be activated by the testingcheats true command

In build/buy mode, you know, the hammer symbol, for building and decorating your house:

bb.moveobjects on/off = enables you to merge and move objects more freely

bb.enablefreebuild = build on a community lot like a workplace included in Get to Work

bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement = (phew that's a long and tricky one!) all items that you have to earn through careers and aspirations are now unlocked! Go crazy and buy what your heart desires ! :)
